Well, this one is a song I own — you can upload music files from your personal collection to the blog itself. There are other ways of doing it with public music stocks online, too.
But it’s a good question — I know you’re not supposed to re-sell products like this one, but I wonder what the rules are for most big blogs that generate some income from ad revenue, reader donations, and/or merchandise. On one hand their blog is earning money and the file is part of the blog; but on the other hand, it’s not like they’re re-distributing the content for direct commercial gain…I doubt there’s a legal problem but I’m not 100% sure.
Also, lots of artists want their work to be shared online, through embedded YouTube videos and the like. There’s certainly value in traffic and hype, though whether that always translates to sales, I don’t know. As long as folks ultimately want to own the songs or albums, in their highest-quality formats, I guess the artists and companies are safe.
Nice! Thanks for sharing. Did you get permission to put it on your blog? How does that work?
Con mucho gusto.
